Dhammatube is an attempt to collect video clips with Dhamma content in one place. Often the clips are about personal impressions, difficulties or inspirations of meditators with aspects of meditation, teachers or teaching systems. Some are stories or positions on teachings. In general the tone is quite informal, conversational and unedited. Contact us if you have video material that you would like to contribute at dhammatube-AT-gmail-DOT-com.
Download Information
To find the clips go to our homepage at veoh.com, video.google.com or youtube.com (you will find a search window below). Search for the name of the person you're looking for and you should get all the clips. You can also just google the name and "dhammatube".
We chose veoh.com for uploading the clips because it sends the clips automatically to youtube and video.google, the two biggest video websites. In addition it offers subscription which means that you can tell them to send you all videos of a channel (e.g. Dhammatube English) or series (e.g. Venerable Jutipanyo), also if new ones arrive. The player does this in the background and informs you when new videos have arrived.
To use this service, register with veoh.com and download their player. Make sure you set the subscription option to 'download all available videos.' (In the left upper corner of the player, go to Options - Settings - Subscriptions.) Otherwise it will download only the last ones.Most of the clips are uploaded in mp4 format which means small files that can be used with iPods and similar devices.
NOTE: Because the Veoh website was blocked in Thailand, most of the recent clips have only been uploaded to youtube.comwhich is the preferred service to use.
